BUMA Australia has been awarded a new contract with BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Alliance (“BMA”) at Goonyella Riverside Mine in Central Queensland

BUMA Australia is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a mining services contract extension with BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Alliance (“BMA”), in relation to its Goonyella Riverside mine (“Goonyella”).

Goonyella

Goonyella, a metallurgical coal mine, is located in the Bowen Basin in central Queensland, Australia. The contract extension from Goonyella adds approximately AU$400 million to Australia’s BUMA order book and runs through September 2027.

Furthermore, BUMA Australia’s success in securing the contract extension reflects that BMA (Australia’s largest producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal), and its joint venture participants, has full confidence that BUMA Australia is capable of operating large and complex mining projects.

Colin Gilligan, CEO of BUMA Australia, explained, “The contract extension is an acknowledgement of BUMA Australia as one of the best mining contractors in Australia. Supported by a highly experienced management and operational team, we are ready to assist BMA at Goonyella and meet the production targets of ~36 mbcm p.a.

The extension and continued efforts to grow in Australia further validates the commitment of the Company in Australia and affirms the Australian business acquisition by the Delta Dunia Group. The Company will also continue to implement the strategy of diversifying commodities and geography, as well as strengthening the Company’s capabilities in terms of infrastructure, sustainable business and technology to realize one of the Company’s missions in providing reliable and committed mining services.
