Following the successful launch of the BUMA Tertiary & Trade Scholarship Program in 2025, we are proud to continue supporting students from Nebo and surrounding communities as they pursue their educational and career aspirations. In partnership with the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) Queensland, the program supports local students as they pursue tertiary studies and trade training, while helping build thriving regional communities.

About the scholarship program

The BUMA Tertiary & Trade Scholarship Program is open to students from Nebo, Clarke Creek, Belyando, Mt Coolon and Capricornia, who are commencing or continuing tertiary studies or vocational training.

Established in 2025, the program was created to help reduce some of the financial barriers associated with further education while encouraging local students to pursue their aspirations and reach their full potential.

Applications are assessed against several criteria, including educational aspirations, community connection and commitment to their chosen pathway.
